Zoom Campaign

OHKYA (previously ONUHKAG) launched a campaign to urge Ontario post-secondary institutions to stop using Zoom.

Reports have cited a study showing that Zoom could potentially be used by the Chinese government as a tool of surveillance and censorship. Zoom also banned US-based organizers of a virtual memorial for the 31st anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre. Such security concerns, along with Zoom’s willingness to comply with Chinese censorship laws, poses serious risks to students and academic freedom.
